Short version: your audio is processed live on your Mac and never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. Period.
Compressito processes system audio in real time, entirely on your device, to apply compression. Audio is never written to disk, transmitted over the network, or shared with us or any third party. It exists only momentarily in memory while it is being played.
The app itself collects no personal data and contains no analytics or tracking. It checks for updates by requesting a small version file from our server; this involves a standard web request and is not tied to your identity.
So we can tell which pages and links are useful, this website counts anonymous, aggregate events — page views, a few button clicks, and coarse, non-identifying details like the page, your country, and device type. It uses no cookies, sets up no cross-site tracking, and never sells or shares data. A random per-visit ID is held in your browser's session storage only until you close the tab — purely to connect the steps of a single visit — and is never a cookie or kept across visits. We don't store your IP address or build a profile of you; visits are grouped under a one-way token that can't identify you and resets every day. The data stays in our own infrastructure.
Purchases are handled by our payment provider, Polar, which acts as our merchant of record (card payments are processed by Stripe on Polar's behalf). They process your payment and email, and issue your license key. We use your email only to deliver your license, provide support, and honor the money-back guarantee. Please see Polar's privacy policy for how payment data is handled.
