Frequently asked

Does it work with every app, systemwide?

Yes. Compressito processes your Mac's entire system audio, so it works with Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV, VLC, games, music — anything that makes sound. There's nothing to configure per app.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — Compressito is a free download and fully works, in 15-minute sessions. When a session ends the audio fades out and one click starts a fresh session; you can restart as many times as you like, forever. Buying ($24 once) removes the timer entirely, and is backed by a 1-year money-back guarantee: if you don't love it for any reason, now or in the future, email us within 12 months for a complete refund.

Will it slow down my Mac?

No. It uses ~0.7% CPU while processing audio and ~ 30 MB of memory. When it's off, it uses essentially nothing.

Is the app trustworthy?

Compressito is a native macOS app, code-signed and notarized by Apple. It requires macOS 15 or later and runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Our code is simple and small, made by a single dev.

What about my privacy?

Your audio is processed live, on your Mac, and never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. See our privacy page for the full details.

How do refunds work?

Email us at [email protected] within a year of purchase and we'll refund you in full — no questions asked.
